Keeping in view the fact that theoretical teaching coupled with practical work is the best way to understand and grasp the various principles of science, the college has since its inception provided the students with all facilities for extensive practical work in the laboratories. Springfields College is equipped with fully-functional Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Computer Science laboratories.

Physics Lab

The Physics lab is well-lit, well-ventilated and spacious, with every possible apparatus and gadget, which is necessary for practical-work.

The students are made to perform experiments related to light, magnetism, heat, general properties, electricity, etc. repeatedly so that the fundamentals of Physics are clear to them. In order to facilitate this, the college has made available more than sufficient instruments and apparatus.

Chemistry Lab

This lab is an aesthetically designed spacious concrete-and-tiles structure with a permanent Gas Bank and piped gas for burners and lamps. The store-room is stocked with top-quality apparatus, chemicals and reagents.

It contains safety features like fire extinguishers and exhaust fans and is well-ventilated and well-lit with two exits on different sides. The lab facilitates practical-work for about 40 students at the same time.

Biology Lab

It is the lab which opens a window to the world of animal and plant life and its phenomena. The Biology lab has a collection of beautiful charts and exotic specimens from the world of animal and plant life in order to introduce the students to the biological and environmental mysteries of our world.

The lab has adequate arrangements for running water and sinks, practical-work tables and stools, a teacher's demonstration-table, microscopes, etc. to facilitate simultaneous working by several groups of students.

Computer Science Lab

Computers have changed our world dramatically. Computers have almost taken over our lives. Today, a computer is a way of life and not just another machine. It is for this reason why the teaching and learning of Computer Science has become necessary and essential.

However, the magic and mystery of computers cannot be broken down to basics and fundamentals through theoretical teaching alone. Practical exposure to and operation of a computer and its various peripherals is a must in order to grasp and understand its intricacies.

The Computer Science lab has been designed and developed around the aforesaid concept and the needs of the students. The lab is aesthetically designed and is air-conditioned, well-lit and almost sound-proof. It has several work-stations with enough elbow-room and is equipped with computers with the latest operating systems, different types of printers and a multitude of software. It has a LAN environment for smooth and controlled functioning. Students are made to perform practical-work in a scheduled manner and every student is provided sufficient exposure for working on a computer system.
